Promoting Education: School Subsidies for Vulnerable Children

Project Summary:

This project aims to increase access to quality education for vulnerable children by providing financial subsidies to cover school fees, uniforms, supplies, and related expenses. By alleviating economic barriers, PAV-H seeks to reduce school dropout rates, promote consistent attendance, and improve educational outcomes for children from disadvantaged families.

Background:

Many children in underserved communities face financial difficulties that prevent them from attending or continuing school. Lack of resources such as tuition, uniforms, books, and transport contribute to low enrollment and high dropout rates, perpetuating cycles of poverty and limiting future opportunities. Subsidizing educational costs directly supports children and their families, fostering a culture of learning and empowerment.

Objectives:

  • Provide school subsidies to at least 150 vulnerable children aged 5 to 16.

  • Reduce financial barriers to education for low-income families.

  • Improve school attendance and retention rates.

  • Support academic success and long-term personal development.

Activities:

  1. Identification and Selection
Collaborate with schools and community leaders to identify vulnerable children in need of support.

  2. Disbursement of Subsidies
Provide direct financial assistance to cover tuition, uniforms, books, and transportation.

  3. Parental and Community Engagement
Organize meetings and workshops to emphasize the importance of education and family support.

  4. Monitoring and Follow-up
Track attendance and academic progress to ensure effective use of subsidies and intervene when necessary.

  5. Reporting and Evaluation
Measure impact through data collection, beneficiary feedback, and school performance records.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increased school enrollment and retention among supported children.

  • Improved academic performance and motivation.

  • Enhanced family and community involvement in education.

  • Reduction in child labor and early school dropouts.
